Proverbs 24:10 (2008)

Proverbs 24:10  was filmed in the community of Waterhouse in Kingston, Jamaica during the creation of the video for Kingstonlogic 2.0 by Terry Lynn.

The short clip was to become a standalone piece which was featured as part of Real Art Ways’ Rockstone and Bootheel exhibit in Hartford, USA (Nov 2009 – Mar 2010).

Also in in 2010, one of five editions of Proverbs 24:10 was aquired by the Bronx Museum in New York City and in 2011 the clip was featured at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto as part of an exhibit entitled Witness as Desired.

The footage, which features of a couple of dancers undulating to an outdoor sound system is slowed down, and the mournful recording of ‘All Things Beautiful’ by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis is substituted for the original soundtrack of pounding dancehall music. Strangely, the movements of the dancers still seem to fit although the people standing in the background seem unusually still – at any speed.
